Moran Technology Consulting Welcomes David Sherry as Executive Consultant in Cybersecurity & Privacy

David Sherry has joined Moran as an Executive Consultant in its Cybersecurity & Privacy practice, bringing more than 25 years of experience in information security.

Naperville, IL  01/06/2026Moran Technology Consulting, a leading provider of strategic technology and cybersecurity advisory services, announced today that David Sherry has joined the firm as an Executive Consultant in its Cybersecurity & Privacy practice. In this role, Sherry will support Moran’s higher education clients by advising on cybersecurity strategy, culture, governance, risk management, and institutional resilience.

Sherry brings more than 25 years of experience in information security, most recently serving as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Princeton University, where he established and led the university’s Information Security Office. In that role, he guided enterprise security strategy, built governance and risk management capabilities, and partnered closely with academic and administrative leadership to embed security into institutional culture.

Prior to Princeton, Sherry served as CISO at Brown University, where he led cybersecurity and privacy efforts for eight years and played a key role in advancing community awareness, policy development, and collaborative security practices across the institution.

In recognition of his broader impact on the higher education community, Sherry is the recipient of the 2025 EDUCAUSE Community Leadership Award, honoring his sustained contributions to advancing cybersecurity collaboration, mentorship, and professional development across higher education.

At Moran, Sherry will work closely with colleges and universities to strengthen cybersecurity and privacy programs, helping institutions navigate evolving threats, regulatory expectations, and resource constraints while remaining aligned to their academic missions.
