Naperville, IL – April 14, 2025 – Moran Technology Consulting, Inc. (Moran), a leading higher education management and IT consulting firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of Wendy Woodward to Practice Lead – Strategic Digital Transformation & Leadership. This new leadership role will allow Moran to increase its focus on supporting higher education leaders through digital transformation and organizational evolutions as the sector faces a period of uncertainty and rapid demand for change.
Woodward has been an Executive Consultant with Moran since 2023, after serving as Chief Information Officer at both Wheaton College and University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. Woodward’s experience leading multiple institutions as a CIO – and subsequently supporting a wide range of Moran clients through senior IT leadership transitions and organizational transformations – have helped her define a vision to expand and enhance client support and services in this space.
“Embracing the opportunity to lead in digital transformation is not just about adapting to change—it’s about pioneering a future where colleges and universities can thrive through innovation, collaboration, and empowerment, shaping the next generation of higher education. Higher education information technology organizations have a critical role to play in leading, enabling, and supporting their institutions through these transformations,” Woodward said. “This practice will work closely with IT and other institutional leaders across all sectors of higher education to provide support and expert guidance in navigating these changes.”
In her new role, Woodward will focus on helping clients prepare for and navigate organizational change, digital transformation, IT strategic planning and assessment exercises, staff and resourcing assessments, organizational maturity assessments, and more.
“Wendy has spent decades helping colleges and universities navigate digital transformation and leadership changes. She has also been an active leader in higher education IT organizations like EDUCAUSE, CLAC [the Consortium of Liberal Arts Colleges], and HESS [Higher Education Systems & Services Consortium] throughout her career,” said Charlie Moran, CEO. “Her demonstrated success across many types of institutions and her extensive contributions to the field make her uniquely qualified to lead this practice into an era where our clients are facing the prospect of significant, rapid change and institutional uncertainty. I am eager to have her help our clients with expanded support to successfully tackle and lead their institutions through a challenging time for higher education.”
