Position Introduction

Job Title: Senior Consultant – Project Manager

Practice: Digital Identity & Security

Reports To: Implementation Competency Lead

Status: Full-Time

The Senior IAM Consultant: Project Manager position requires an experienced project manager with a technical background who has strong communication skills to help lead the development and deployment of institution-wide systems pertaining to identity lifecycles, birthright entitlements, credential, and access provisioning, and on- and off-boarding for members of the institution, and various other IT initiatives.

The Senior IAM Consultant will use the MTC methodology, approach, and frameworks to provide meaningful project management services to client institutions. This requires a motivated individual with an aptitude to learn and be challenged to develop expertise in a rapidly changing field. Collaboration is critical in the support of clients, so relationship management is important for an individual to be successful in consulting and client engagement.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage IAM implementations and IT initiatives for client institutions from inception to completion.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, RAID logs, and reports with support from technical resources.
  • Lead project execution, overseeing tasks and schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential challenges proactively.
  • Manage the scope, budget, and resources of projects.
  • Ensure deliverables meet both internal and external quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

General Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of experience working in project management.
  • 3+ years of experience working in information technology.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of standard project management tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of information technology systems architecture and integration concepts.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Certain engagements may require a criminal background check.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Higher education employment experience;
  • Understanding of fundamental cloud computing concepts;
  • Experience with information assurance concepts and processes;
  • Knowledge of and experience with security regulations, standards, and processes;
  • Willingness to train others and lead engagement teams;
  • Fundamental understanding of software, computer, and network architectures.
  • Experience with one of the following solutions: RapidIdentity, Fischer Identity, Okta, SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, or the InCommon Trusted Access Platform (Grouper, midPoint, COmanage)

Remote Work

This position is 100% remote work. As such, an individual must have suitable space to conduct virtual meetings and to work on deliverables and other essential duties. In some cases, an individual may need to travel to a client location, conference, or company meeting.
